Ontario Association of Interval & Transition Houses

Project Details

Ontario Association of Interval & Transition Houses (OAITH) is a provincial umbrella organization working to end all forms of gender-based violence and femicide.  Their members—emergency shelters, second-stage housing providers, and community-based women’s groups—offer a lifeline to survivors and children fleeing violence. They provide a range of essential services, from 24-hour crisis support and safe shelter to outreach programs such as counseling, legal advocacy, employment, training, housing support, specialized programs for children and youth and community-based prevention programs. OAITH supports this vital work through advocacy, education, prevention, research and training.

OAITH recently updated their website to include new features including a job board with the ability to accept online submissions, an updated resource library with various filters for improved useability, and news and events sections to promote the work they do. Their new site also has increased accessibility features to support individuals with specific needs. The site was built in keeping with trauma-informed design principles, with the intent to provide a sense of calm and safety for all users.

The site was built in WordPress, and is WCAG compliant.

We respectfully acknowledge that our office, on Lake Kashagawigamog in Haliburton, is located on the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabe and the unceded lands of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg people. We are deeply grateful for their continued stewardship of the lands and waters, and for the opportunity to work and learn on this land.
